1. Monroe College

Monroe College offers online degree programs in a variety of different business-related subjects, aimed at a variety of different degree levels. The college has a particular focus on online management programs, with subjects ranging from business administration and business management, to sports management and hospitality management. There are also accounting programs available at the associate and bachelor's degree level.

Classes at Monroe are taught in either a seven-and-a-half-week or 15-week timeframe, and with asynchronous delivery, students can complete work when it's most convenient for them. The 33-credit master's program takes approximately a year to complete and utilizes a holistic approach to business leadership by integrating faith principles with leadership research and theories. Courses are mostly delivered synchronously, while assignments are asynchronous. The master's program begins each September and January and is capped at 20 students.

4. SUNY College of Technology at Delhi

SUNY Delhi's fully online Bachelor of Business Administration in hotel and restaurant management degree program was among the first of its kind at U.S. postsecondary institutions. The program focuses on "the fiscal responsibilities and management duties that leaders and entrepreneurs in the [hotel and restaurant] industry face," with courses in topics such as hospitality law and financial management. The school also offers an online BBA in culinary arts management, a program that is targeted specifically at "the rigors of managing and running a culinary facility."

Online coursework for these programs is delivered through Moodle, the college's campus learning management system. Distance learners are assigned a dedicated academic adviser upon acceptance to guide them through the program and supply career guidance. As an added bonus, SUNY Delhi students may have the option of participating in a six-month internship at Walt Disney World in Orlando.

5. Fashion Institute of Technology

FIT's online courses follow the same semester schedule as on-campus coursework. Courses are delivered asynchronously, so students can complete their coursework when it's most convenient for them, but distance learners face regular deadlines and due dates for assignments. Distance learners who can't attend the FIT campus in New York may have to work with their professors to arrange for proctored exams.

6. The New School

This New York City-based school, founded in 1919, offers online degree programs through Open Campus, its portal for distance education. Online classes are typically delivered asynchronously, so students can complete assignments and engage in coursework at any time.

The New School offers online business degree programs in strategic design and management that culminate in either a Master of Science or a Global Executive Master of Science degree. The MS program can be completed fully online in about 22 months; however, students are required to complete a one-week studio program in New York City.

Through their online portal, Alfred State Online, the school offers fully online programs in technology management, construction supervision and human services management. These programs are designed for working professionals who already hold an associate's degree, and all offer students an opportunity to pursue an internship during their studies.

Online classes offered through Alfred State Online run for seven weeks, and are delivered via the Blackboard content management system. The institution also offers online tutoring in math and writing to support its distance learners.

8. Syracuse University
