The days of using a rotary phone are over. Heck, the days of using your basic cell phone could be in trouble as well, thanks to the rise of smartphones in the United States. In March of 2012, it was announced that 50.4 percent of consumers in the country were using smartphones. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand why either.
The amount of information, innovative tools, and functionality that are now available on your phone means that people never have to feel disconnected from their friends, their work, or even current events. Perhaps no group of Americans has embraced the smartphone revolution as widely as college students, who can be found with their smartphones within arm's reach.
