The need for specialists is expected to grow 15 percent from 2012-2022, according to BLS data, and this growth is considered faster than average. Over this 10-year period, 35,400 new positions could become available for these specialists, the BLS reports. Mean annual pay for training and development specialists was $61,530, as of May 2014, according to the BLS.
