Online Colleges for Fine Art & Craft

Schools that offer fine art and craft degrees provide opportunities for students to learn to make a living as artists. Upon completion of fine art and craft degree programs, graduates could pursue careers as artists, painters, photographers, sculptors, woodworkers and more.

Courses in degree programs are generally varied, but can include classes in ceramics, drawing and painting, general studies, metal, photography, wood and more. Students usually concentrate on one subject while taking many liberal arts and humanities classes as well. Fine art and craft degrees take as long as four years or 120 credit hours to complete and when completed typically culminate in a bachelor's of fine arts degree. However, some fine art and craft programs offer certification instead of a degree and are shorter in length as a result. Since fine art and crafts degrees focus heavily on studio work, classes offer you the opportunity to build skills to help you pursue a living as an artist.
